Sorry to beat this issue to death, but is the Mopar PCM worth the $300 plus the 92 octane gas for the rest of my life?
I have a 98 5.2L with Edelbrock headers, Flowmaster catback, K&N Filtercharger with 180 degree thermostat.

I think this motor is still sleepy, would this PCM really wake it up?

Thanks alot guys.

I have a 97 5.2 auto and I actually paid 256.00 total for mine....but I cannot say where, and it was worth all 256.00. As for running 92 octane.....that lasted a couple of months. I now have the stock PCM back in and I have come to the conclusion that 87 octane will do just fine. Not only did I pay more for premium fuel, but my MPG dropped considerably, causing me to fill up more. I still have the MP PCM in the garage, and I will not sell it unless I sell the truck, but I do not see anytime in the near future that I will put it back on.

That's just what I was thinking also. I figure I'd be better off spending it on a good Comp Cam for equivalent money, maybe some more power and still use the cheap 87 octane. Thanks for the honest input.

Thrush... did you install just the Edelbrock headers or the headers and y-pipe? Summit has their "tubular exhaust system" for $349 (409 stainless headers, y-pipe, install kit). I was thinking about this, but wonder if it would be worth the money and work to install. I have the Mopar Performance Controller, K&N, and DynoMax Cat-back and was thinking about installing headers, y-pipe and new cat to complete the exhaust system....

I have the TES with Y-pipe. For an extra $50, I think it's worth it, when you compare the Edelbrock Y-pipe with the stock (it's like comparing a cigar and a cigarette). Route66er, how do you like that PCM? How about the added cost of operation, is it worth it? I was either going to go with the PCM or a Fastman 50mm Throttle Body and was wondering which one.

Yes, I figured it would be worth it for $50. The exhaust sounds really good now and the powerband has moved up a bit. I have a heavy Durango, so this kind of hurts me. I was debating whether or not I should go with a 50mm TB or the PCM. Any ideas? The only thing I don't like about the PCM is that it requires me to run expensive gas and then the MPG decreases as well. What to do?
