St. Thomas Dragway? (I think it was cuz I made all

Oh... by the way... did I happen to mention that I
just bought a 360? Heh, heh, heh :)

The tranny is available, but I just don't have the
money for it too. I'm driving down to Buffalo the
weekend after next to pick the motor up. It's
going to be a while before it actually goes in
the truck because I want to get some goodies
for it and have them installed (headers, cam,
maybe M1) before. There is also the $$$ factor
in acquiring the goodies :). Soooo, it will be a
long time before I'm any threat at the drag
strip!! :)

Sounds like you have quite the project underway. I think you could have your tranny built to take the abuse the 360 will give it. It will bolt up to the 360. Also has a deeper 1st gear than the 46re (2.74 compared to 2.45). A lot of guys use the A904, which is what your tranny is based, over the A727, the 360 trans relative, because of the gears and lighter rotating mass.

Really? That is good to hear. My mechanic said I
would be okay with the tranny I have now, but that
if I really started to drive the truck hard (i.e.,
racing a lot) it probably would need to be
upgraded. The entire drivetrain is available, if I
had lots of $$$ I would take it too. It's a 98 360
with only 60,000 miles on it, couldn't ask for a
better swap (except for maybe one of those new
crate engines!

Yeah, I think if you put a good shift kit in it, set up pretty agressive, it should be fine. I don't think you will be racing every weekend will you?
