This may be a stupid ?, but I just have to ask.
Ok, scenario. I order a cervinis hood. (part #138). Ok, i cut the scoops open, cut holes in the bottom of the hood so air can pass thru, take off the stock airbox/airhat, put a K&N xtream air filter (one of the old style round ones) on the ol dodge. Is that gonna give any real world performance boost...?
Gonna buy the hood anyways, but just want to figure out the best way to make it do what its SUPPOSED to do.

You can buy the hoods that actually function as a forced induction system. The Shaker hood allows you to use the extreme filter, and there are other ones that hook up to your factory air box.

Yes this will give you some boost, probably a few extra HP.

10-4... I saw the ones that hook up to the factory airbox...i just dont like that idea...doesnt look like it would help much more than the sewer pipe ran from my airbox front to the grille at the moment... lol

other than the shaker....do you know of any other dual scoop hoods that actually hook into the intake (sorta like the box on the new ram air trans ams)
