I have had it with trying to choose the right exhaust..my present muffler sucks..MBRP can kiss my ass...my damn truck sounds like i should be hauling haybales...i give up...anything i put on this truck...sounds like a damn truck.i want the sound of muscle..as of right now its dumped...so it sort of got the sound i want...mustangs, camaros, hell even rice have their notes, but after market pipes on my R/T make me feel like i'm in a damn RAM..any suggestions are welcomed...i even thought of running open headers..LOL...can anyone say "NASCAR"...

On my 01 R/T all I did was swap the factory muffler for a flowmaster 2 chamber and it sounds nice and mean. Can't wait to add headers and get rid of the third cat and see what it sounds like.

Uhhh, lets see you have the same engine as the Ram gets, so no matter what you do to it it WILL sound like a Ram. I guess it's all personal preference. Have you tried Spintech??? Check out the mpegs section on www.blackdakrt.com for some sound clips of different exhaust set ups on R/T's before you spend anymore money. From the way it sounds you will never be happy though.

i don't mean to sound like a whinning little boy, but i just spent some high amount of cash for something Farm & Fleet could of installed over the weekend...grant it it has the same engine as the ram, but a 350 in a camaro or firebird sounds a hell of alot diff. from same their full size trucks...plus if i would want to run some TRU duals on my truck, Big Brother would prevent mw from doing so, around here not to many race shops will mess with exhaust...i assuming the 360 in a R/T is diff from a Ram, so there should be some noticable change in sound...i give the Flowmaster a shot, what the hell, if anything i ll get that drone sound like the mustang boys...well gots to go..mommy calling me for my afternoon nap...lol...

gibson sounds sort of like a mustang...till u floor it, then it sounds like an overgrown ricer with a hole in the muffler. that is on a V6.

I just knocked off my muffler; got the dump past the back of the cab (RC B.T.W.). It is all cats no muffler. I figure with all the cats the 4.7 has on it I should have plenty of backpressure:). I am in the middle of a home brew intake so I didn't notice to much change. I sounds good below 3000 then really winds out loudly from there.

I have a Gibson 3" single. I love it. Its got a nice deep mellow tone. Yeah kinda like the Cobra. Kinda " burbley ".
Then I added a hi-flow cat. Now it "drones" bad @ 2000 rpm. Too loud in the cab for me.
Tip: Just buy a muffler and have a shop cut it in. Dont buy a cat-back system if youre gonna stay 3" in. single out. I spent almost 400 bux on a cat-back system and it came with the same pipes that were already on the truck. If I only knew.

Everybody has different tastes in exhaust sound....
The best sounding R/T I've heard (to me) has a 3" MorFlow cat on it with a Spintech SUV muffler and a single 3" out exhaust.

i cant believe no one mentioned the awesome MAGNAFLOW muffler oohh mmmyyyy god it is the exact sound you are looking for trust me...
i had flowmaster 70 on my truck it just didnt sound rite then i got the magnaflow catback and wwwwwwwoooooooowwwwwwww the sound is the deepest mellowest out there just like a big block chevy with headers and duals

the best thing i have heard on a RT (and it does sound of muscle) is 5pnt9luv's RT. He has the big cat removed with the y-pipe split so he has true dual exhaust and two 40 series flowmasters at the end with turndowns..... it screams!!

Actually, I ran my 4.7 w/no muffler for a while, just the cat, and it sounded GOOD, but a bit too loud for me. I ended up going with a glasspack. Cheap, and smoooth sounding with a nice burble. Give it a try.

wesley...its dual behind the the bumper(along the rear frame)and its for a regular cab R/T...it looks pretty sharp but its not what i was looking for hell, i'll take $175 for it...still in good shape..as of right now it sits in the trunk of my daily driver...if you like i can send pics of it..
