Actually Airaid makes thier own filters in house, also they have an extra layer than K&N, which offers better filtration. They extra layer doesnt hinder performance at all. The difference in microns you could not feel in the truck.

Looked at the picks of the 4.7 on the net.
It's just a nice filter that goes to the air hat.
Good price I guess though, cause it comes with a nice heat shield, that seems to still come from the engine bay though.
I think I'll stick with my homebrew and K&N.

In the original packaging???? My mom just got an '02 Durango 4.7 and I want to do some things to it, I was going to just get a drop in K&N, but............Is it better than just a drop in??

Much better than a drop in.. looks way better too! K&N drop in? NO h.p gain, just the availability to wash and reuse it.. Airaid ..h/p gains ! and the availability to wash and reuse..

the airaid works really well, with my
homebrew setup...I paid $160.00 though !
sounds like a great price, but still too pricey for
a heat sheild and cone filter, I am going to get
the 360 intakez soon.

As with any air intake system, when you remove the factory restrictive intake system you alway loose bottom end, its a fact of life.. But you make up for it in the mid to top end. Not just AirAid, they all do that.

I do feel a nice pull at 3 - 3500. I guess its better that I cant really chirp my tires anymore. Damn things are too expensive!

I did not notice any loss of low end in my sixer
The main thing I noticed is I did not lose power from 3rd into 4th and that it gets better MPG that the K&N drop in.
