Hey I put on 275/50R15 tires on. Does anyone know how I'm going to be able to make my speedo read correctly? I beleave it's reading 10-15mph under. Is there a gear I can buy? or do I have to live with it? Thanks for the help

it shouldnt matter if you go wider, only if the sidewall got higher or shorter.

If your speedo is off I know krcperformance has a gear box that will set it straight and speedtweaks might have something along those lines also.

krcperformance wants $149 for a gear box thats crazy. Does any one know of anything cheaper? Lew36 did you buy the gear box from krcperformance? Is it worth it?

I went to www.dakota-truck.net and used the tire and wheel calculator with the sizes you stated and you will have a reading that is high by 11.81%. I haven't bought a anything to correct mine yet but when I do I work at a performance shop and we sell one for the same price. You really do need something to correct your speedo at an indicated 56 your only doing 50 and at an indicated 83 your only doing 75. Hope this helped you.

I made this change and run the same tire size.
I usually set my speed 5-7 mph over the posted limit. No problems yet.

The tires are a perfect size. They don't stick out 2 far. They look wide ass hell from the rear. The truck looks great now all i have to do is a 3" drop.

Your speedo now reads 10.6% to fast.
So when your driving 60, your actually traveling 53.7 mph.
Just do the math when driving, no need to buy expensive gear.

I went from 215/75/15 to 255/55/17 There is only a .3inch diffrence So mine are pretty much the same But I used to have 255/60/17 toyo proxies and it was 3 inches taller of a tire made a big diffrence.
