Well I was out runnin around last night and ran into some fellas driving a 02 Mustang GT 5spd.
They ask if I wanted to race and I said hell yeah.
Welp that Mustang was a Pig. From the red light
I pulled him 2 truck lengths just as soon as I stopped spinnin, I got out on it just a little hard somwhere around 4500rpm's or so but any way
I ran up to 100mph and he was starting to catch me
but in the 1/8mile roughly I had him about 4-5
car lengths...........Yep I was nice went and out
run a mustang then took my girl to the stripmines
and went 4 wheelin. Can't get much better than that.

So what you are saying here is you have a 13 sec. truck. Because the '02 Mustangs run mid to low 13's in the quarter. But, anywazs good kill.

'02 Mustang GT's run low 13's with a 100hp shot of Nitrous , 4.10's and Drag Radials. Those things are heavy as hell and have 260hp. One of my friends had a '96 Cobra- 305hp with long tube headers , SHM programmed computer , McLeod clutch , 4.30 gears and 28x10.5 M/T slicks and was running 13.30's , that car probably weighed 300# less than a new GT.

Yep , I had a 97 Cobra ( 305 HP) completely stock except for K&N and cant even get into the 13s. Ran 99.89 mph though. 02 GT runnin mid/low 13s ,,, yea right

Ok back when I posted my '00 stang GT kill everyone mocked me and said it couldn't be done in my R/T...this guy gets on in a truck w/ just about the same HP & kills a stang and he gets praised...WTF?

Wait nevermind I just realized it was most of the 4.7 guys getting on here saying my R/T can't take a GT. Then the 4.7 guy gets on and hooray!!! LOL It's funny when you think about it.

Well I will call your bluff!4-5 car lenghts in the 1/8 mile yeah ha ha ha Come on man you cant really expect us to buy this crap.So if you had him by 4-5 lenghts in the 1/8 mile he was still in first gear doing about ten mph or what???? the guys that asked you to race were probably just laughing their arses off at you when you started dumping gears.

I'm sorry but I can't believe this, 4.7 4X4 smokin a Mustang GT. Maybe if it was a 4.7 RC 2wd I can see it happening.
Oh I have a 2000 Dak 4X4 4.7 5spd 3.55LSD with goodies too. But I don't think I could beat a stang but I would probably give him a good run.

are you sure the mustang wasn't pulling a 5,000 lb trailer, that would be the only way you'd pull on him that fast, even if he was flooring it and spinning....i'd say he wasn't eventrying to race you

I think it boils down to posting kills. It may be a total load of fictional BS or it may have been a race that took place. The guy in the mustang may have a blower and be pushing 500hp but if he screws up off the line and maybe misses a shift and I beat him with a 18 second quarter mile in my 318 4x4 am I gonna brag about it, NO. The point is that just because I won the race doesn't mean my truck is fast.
If you want to impress me, post a time slip of what your truck can do on the strip. Then we can compare apples to apples.

My neighbor has an 02 stang GT with flowmaster exhaust and a K&N and he run mid 13's all day long. The car also ran high 13's bone stock, if you want slips I will gladly email them. There is no way you could ever beat that stang unless it was in the SNOW!

Racing on the street proves nothing about either vehicle, it's far too arbitrary. If you beat the stang I'm happy that you're happy we all feel good when we lay the "Ramshead" boots to any other vehicle that crosses our path. Way to Go.
Now here is a little tidbit fresh from the pages of the latest Car and Driver. The new SVT Mustang Cobra with blower runs a 12.9 sec 1/4 stock @ 111 thats 390 HP If the stock Mustang is pushing 260 hp and has a more highway friendly gear there is a good chance that it could be beaten even by a 4x4 CC. Did it happen? Who cares? Can he beat every Mustang he comes across? He never said he could so what's your beef? Why does everybody feel the need to be so skeptical and so critical of other Dak owners? I believe DBD, and for the record I'm the forgotten v-8 I've got a 5.2l.

Listen that race did happen and yes I won by a
good 4 cars. I will be posting some times for ya!
Next Friday night i'm goin racin. It's just a 1/8
mile track I won't have any 1/4 mile times.Anyway
the new stangs are slow with traction control on
the engine cough's when you shift gears also there
was 2 200lb people in the car, and it was only 3
days old, nice fresh new tires (that don't hook).
But anyways That's not the first stang that I have
outrun I have taken a 94 GT 5.0 and a 96 GT 4.6 too they were both stock 5spd's and had over 60,000 on'em.. I'll Be postin some number's for
you Dak lover's...This caused too much Bull Sh@t

Its funny... My dads 5.0 5-speed runs mid to high 14's fairly easily and thats with me driving and I just learned to drive the damn stick back in december so that shows how much skill I have...
Thats a bonestock 92... And your telling me 10 years later they havent improved performance wise one bit?

My dads 92 5.0 5-speed Bonestock runs high 14's low 15's (according to G-tech out on a road that runs right next to the air-port so its plenty flat and it has 250k miles on it. Yes that is MILES not KILOMETERS) thats with me driving it and I just learned to drive the stick back in december.
So your going to sit there tell me that 10 years later an 02 Mustang runs mid to high 14 second times??

Hey I remember a while back somebody had posted how they didnt like ford and the mustang because fords 5.0 isnt a real 5.0 its a 4.9... Well I was just reading an article about the new 5.7 hemi and it was talking about how its going to replace the 5.9 (actually a 5.8). So whoever was running there mouth off about the 5.0 can keep it shut from now on.
