Subject: Alt / AC bracket removal
IP: Logged

Message:
I am in the middle of my M1 install. I removed my AC compressor long ago. I was wondering if there would be any bad effects to grinding/cutting the part of the bracket that the A/C compressor mounts too. It would clean up the front of the engine nicely, The bracket looks plenty strong to hold the alt in place.

Thx

If you search the jucnk yards and find one without A/C from the factory the bracket has no spot for the compressor.

dacuda: I have done the same thing. I cut it and sent it to Jet-Hot to get it coated so it will match my coated m1 intake. It is defenitly stable enough to hold the alt. by itself. Hopefully I will get it back soon and will bw able to put a pick here.
