Does anyone know anything about the
ASE reprogramed computer?
They say 26 HP Guarenteed
and somewhere aroung 34 lbs trq.
all to the wheels
Is there anyone out there that has one ? and did it really help?
I don't want to waste $350
2001 Dakota CC 4.7 Auto 3.55 LS
Volant Intake , Flowmaster Muffler In Place of Factory W/Turndown only TPS @ 7.67
G-Tech 0-60 Best Run- 6.66 Sec.
1/4 15.76 @ 71.6 MPH , Had to hit brakes and havent got a good flat road with enough room to go 1/4 mile yet. Just got the gtech a few days ago.
Anyway, I would be very grateful to anyone with any Info.
BTW: does anyone else have very bad traction problems? I can roll 15 with it down in 1st gear and let out 20 feet of rubber....What can I do besides slicks?

Message: Their claimed HP & Tq improvements is based upon computer simulation (not an actual dyno test) and I have talked to a few guys that had it and said it helped out some, but no mindshattering improvements. Your 4.7 is pretty much peaked out on timming advance (the 4.7 doesn't have the slow timming setting like the 5.9 trucks) so I would say that you might not see as much improvement as they claim. Unless your only goals are to get rid of speed limiters and up your rev limiters you may want to spend your money on the new cam set up for that truck or something else, and get the ase last.

Message: Sorry to get off topic,, just wanted to say that we have similiar setups on our trucks John,,,except that mine is open diff. (not LS). I've been able to get mid to low (15.4- on stock tires) in the qtr. mi. runs. I've done it w/the Gtech, as well as the TAZZO VPC. You must be having some really bad traction prob.s! (I think my truck was built on a Monday or Tuesday!)
As for the ASE chip,,,I've been really interested as well, and want to see what kind of improvement it will make w/the intake and exhaust mod.s I've done so far.

Message: I have an open diff w/ 355 gears, and at the
track, it hooks up posi. If you already have LS,
you should go with slicks, might improve your
times by a couple tenths.
Hopefully Transgo makes that shift kit for us
4.7 auto's, at the track, Mine will smoke the tire
almost half way down. (1/8th mile) 10.66 in
the 1/8th is pretty sorry : (
I would only buy the ASE if it removed the
limiter, I cant make myself put up money after I
wasted 200 on this sh!te jet chip. Maybe if I
sell it I might think about the ASE.

Message: Yeah, the slicks are a good idea, if I can ever find 6 lug 4 1/2 " rims.....I really like Welds, but I called around and everyone says there is no bolt pattern on that or centerline.
I would like to get smaller diameter wider slicks, soft ones
Another problem is that I think I am running lean , I just pulled my plugs to try the 3923's and they were A bit White, All I have is an intake , flowmaster , no 3rd cat , tps 7.67 , I did have the Throttle Body Spacer but I think it actually took 5 HP away by what the gtech said.
Anyway It seems to need more fuel.
Also My truck was hit in the front, 4 months ond someone crossed the centerline and hit me, and when the dealer fixed it , I got it back with a Authorized Software Update Sticker On the ECU.
I wonder What they did to it. Is there Any way to find out?
Like by the sequence # on it.
Anyway what can I do about the lean prob?
Any tips?
Thanks for the replies everyone.....

Message: Here's some Weld look-a-likes. They are Prime Wheels and I mounted my slicks on them.
http://www.primewheel.com/Primecatalog/pdetail.asp?model=231
They run about $125 a wheel at Pep Boys.
As for your white-ish plugs, that is the color they get after extended highway driving. Lite tan to white. Sounds like things are okay except for that authorized software update. I'm getting mine reflashed by Mike Leach & Co.
