Has anyone done an engine transplant on a 98 model? I've got a 2.5, and I haven't decided if I want to get a new one, or just an engine transplant, but something has to give. If anyone has done a transplant, I'd like to know who you had do it (local dealer, local mechanic?) what engine you put in, how much it cost, and other considerations (transmission, radiator, front suspension, etc).

Having done several such swaps several times in the past, I've come to the conclusion that you'd be better off just selling (or trading in) your truck and buying one with the engine/trans combo you want.
That is unless you have lots of money you want to spend, plenty of free time, and you are willing to put up with the aggravation involved!
