About 5-7 hp.... it lets the engine rev more freely and therefore more quickly.

Hurt the Clutch?

Clutch Fan would be the cooling fan on the -front- of the engine. The circular unit with the fins on it, that the blades bolt too, would be the fan's clutch. Removing the fan removes that clutch as well, so it doesn't really hurt the clutch.

As for hurting anything? You loose the cooling provided by the fan in stop-and-go traffic. Lots of trucks already have a secondary electric fan, some people say they work fine by themselves. Other people replace the low-performance electric fan with a higher performance one (2000CFM+), which offsets the loss of the mechanical clutch fan.

It gave me 2 more mpg and don't forget the wear that it takes off your water pump. I put a Black Magic #150 as a puller and added a Flex-a-Lite #110 as a pusher to my Dak and it keeps it super cool.

how hard is it to take the clutch fan off the 4.7, I was looking at it the other day when I replaced the spark plugs with the 3923's and it doesn't seem like there is much room there.

Thanks in advance.

The hard part is loosening the bolt that holds the clutch unit to the water pump snout. After that the fan slides right out over the A/C unit. nothing else to remove.
