Went out to Friday night T&T (first of the year) and dropped my personal best 2/10ths to 15.386@89.65!

Truck is a 98 5.2l 5spd 3.92:1 Anitspin. Winter tinkering included a battery move, new s bolt in the tb, removed radio, Hurst shifter, replaced pre-filterbox elbow with straight piece of tube from rad support.

Was a fairly cool night and St. Thomas is slower than Grandbend. I'm going there later this year who knows I might dip into the 14's. (fingers crossed)

My friends are non-carguys so I just had to share!

Middy.

Can you give me some details on the June 8th Cayuga drag day. I live in Guelph and will definately go out with my 99 R/T. Only been out once before and that was at St. Thomas on Mopar day. Ran 14.90 with a K&N FIPK and Mopar PCM.

Well, it is Saturday, June 8 from 10-4. There are more details on www.dodgetrucks.org, on the "West and East Canada" board. It should be a great day, with people from this board, as well as moparchat and dodgetrucks.org

Well I checked my handy date book and it sez I'm free, but I'll have to double check with my social co-ordinator. She lives up in Ottawa and I don't always remember my commitments but I'll be there if she lets me (or isn't here to stop me ;-).

Interesting - why did you relocate the battery, and remove the foglights & radio? Looks like a nice truck.

The battery seemed like a fairly easy and inexpensive project that would improve my day to day driving (handling), and it helps traction at the Drags. It's no twin turbo but small improvements (eventually) ad up to big gains. Also with the battery out I plan on putting a filter assembly from a Grand Cherokee in the Drivers side for a "Factory Looking" Dual filter/intake setup under hood. (Just to make folks at shows ask "Did the ACR's Come like that from the factory?" 8-)

The foglights I did for many reasons,

1 Primary spotting feature of Factory ACR models was foglight valence with no Foglights in.

2 The reason the Factory did it on ACR's was - better brake cooling.

3 Lighten frontend.

4 Political statement - Too damn many people drive around with the fog/driving lights on, just because they're there. (Pontiac Drivers, worst offenders IMHO!) I have only genuinely needed them 3-4 times in the 2.5 years I've owned my truck. Low beams most cases work just as well.

5 Added fringe benefit Spotting feature. When my truck was stolen the police were able to find it easily due to this and a few other features. (It was involved in a pursuit, I get a guilty thrill from the fact that my truck outran the Cops.) I actually saw it in the rear view mirror of my Dad's car driving home from a friends condo the next night. I tried to turn around when the thieves got off the street we were on but they eluded me too. It was recovered in my buddy's neighbourhood the following morning.

I like to compare the mods to my Truck to restifying an old Satelite into a GTX or Roadrunner. Only thing is the factory never made the vehicle I'm cloning. 8-)

Sorry for the novel, but I'm glad you like it! Thanks for the compliments.

Middy.

Well I checked my calender and the 8'th is a no go, However the Mopar meet at St.Thomas looks pretty good. I hope to show up with my 2000 R/T regular cab, and a couple guy,s I work with are talking about coming out with their x-tended cab R/T's. Tere are a whole pile of us down here in Windsor. As a matter of fact the Police even have a black x-tended cab as an undercover cruiser. So if your ever in windsor beware of a black R/T with blacked out windows, he's usually on Huron Church Rd.

I'll be wearing a "London Fury" hockey jersey that says Middleton on the back. Just come on up to me I'm friendly, but a little slow sometimes. "I know you from Where?"

I'll be in a Green RC 5.2l 5spd. "London Fury" jersey. Brad what do you drive? is it a gen II?

BTW The Fury won against the Chatham Rolling Cobras tonight. 8-5 Yay!

Looking back at my slips I only managed a 15.44 but I did have one 2.20 60 ft time which was a miracle at St. Thomas. Got to meet Lesley, Brad, Jim from Dodgetrucks.org and Matt, all great folks. I'm going to get to the Dodge Truck Shootout.

A good time was had by all.
