Subject: Who does best on reprogrammed PCM's?

Message:
Hey Guys,

I am thinking about doing the HO cam swap, actually, I am sure I will do it.... But, I have one question. Who is the best PCM tuner to send my computer to or do a swap-out with? What price range am I looking at? If I have it reprogrammed, will the dealership be able to tell it? I haven't even got my truck yet and I want to make sure I can get it worked on without any warranty hassles. This is why I am looking at the cams and probably a ported head swap later ( I have a buddy who ports heads professionally for a living- he even has his own flowbench). I figure that the less they can see on the outside that looks modified, the better off I'll be if a warranty issue ever arrises. This is why I really don't want to do much more than an intake tube and filter and a cold air system... And they may come way after the cam swap, computer reprogramming, and the head work. I haven't heard many people say much about being really impressed with any of the intake systems, so I may just put that money towards a computer swap.

Please advise a tuner who is willing to work on my exact combination and willing to re-do my tune when I have large mods done (heads, etc.).

Also, list a name and number for a contact

Thanks!!
Ryan

HO Cams, HO Heads, and HO Intake can all be installed. I'm waiting on the details for the custom tuning required as a local dealer is already doing this swap on select vehicles....58RWHP more with headers and the HO conversion.

On the 4.7??? What's the difference in heads and intake? Longer runners? Bigger valves? CW said they are the same..... Is it just the cams and headers working together?

Any dyno sheets or is the dealer just telling you 58 rwhp?

Wow!

CW.... read the post over on the V-8 board about "4.7 Owners." Bernd says some dealer is swapping in HO heads, HO cams, HO intake and headers and a few other tweaks and getting 58 more RWHP!! What's the poop?

Soooo... WHo does the best on reprogramming PCMs?

HAHA... I just wanted a simple answer... BOO HOOO!!

I have ordered my HO cams, they are on the way.

I hope they are a noticeable improvement, even without the computer tuning...

Otherwise, would I do good by purchasing an IAT device and a cold air inlet tube to go with these new cams? Maybe it would richen the mixture up enough with the IAT system? I dunno....

All that I do know is that I have HO cams coming, and I still haven't even got my truck yet... crazy huh?

I hope these cams aren't a waste, according to CW, they are good, so hopefully (fingers crossed)....

Later,
Ryan

58rwhp with outher tweaks like headers and custom programed PCM I am sure. The HO heads may be cleaner and slightly larger ports I don't know I don't have a set kicking around.
