hi guys i need help i just put on a powerdyne on my 1997 dak cc 4x4 318 i did this the blow off valve ati airhat 24lb injectors m1 intake 50mm throttle body msd btm and mike leach custom flash i have gauges to keep an eye out on everything the problem is i am only getting 3-4lb of boost does anybody know why i dont even have to use to use the boost retard i have no pinging but i dont know why im not gettin the full 6lb i read that it has something to do withthe size of the crank pulley and after 00 dakota fixed the problem thanks for your help

Just from what I have noticed, without the bypass valve I was hitting 6# but it would get heat soaked and performed poorly. But the power is more consistant with bypass valve installed altough I cannot get anymore than 4# out of it. I dunno why other than the possibility that the port that I have on the supply tube (from the s/c) might be disrupting the air flow. This weekend I am going to play with this theory.

when i put the valve on, I still hit six after installing it. where did you guys tap into a vacuum source? maybe thats your problem.

could be your problem. I tapped into the manifold source on the passenger side... this is where my boost gauge, btm, fmu, and valve get their vacuum. just tee off the line and start big on the hose so you get accurate boost/vacuum. try it and let me know.

hi drtswinger thanks for the info i have the m1 intake it has four vacumm ports on the side i have one for the bsm one for the valve and one for the fmu the boost gauge is tapped where the iat usaully goes anyways i put the 9 pounder on and now it makes 5 to 6 pounds im pretty happy with it know i have to make an appointment with level 10 put in a tranny for me

I found my air leak. My spacer under the air hat, well about 1/3 of it is gone. I'm suprised I made 4#'s HAHA

The truck had a s/c already on it when I bought it. My air hat is cast aluminum with a 1" (what looks like) ABS steped spacer. The spacer is what departed the truck hehe It was cracked when I bought it, I just reglued it together and ran with it.
I am working on making my own spacer out of carbon fiber or kevlar. if it works I'll see about making more.

I'll work on getting pictures

The best value I found for an air hat was from Turbo City. They sell the Turbonetics($100 from them) for $65. They are cast aluminum and does not require a spacer. I can't find the URL now and they don't list it on there site. Have to call them. Usually 6 or less in stock.

I ditched the FMU and installed 2 injectors in my air hat using this:

Some great info on this thread. I'm installing a Powerdyne on my 95 and it looks like I need to get a BOV.

hey all, Im back. Its getting hot again, and I'm getting slow again. I cannot figure it out. Im getting boost, but I aint fast. I lost to an ls1 today. cocky preppy dude too. could my cat be getting hot and blocking flow. its a high flow cat, and I ragged on the truck hard the day I got the cat put in. heat still? im not sure. BERND I might be taking that trip sooner than later. before june 15th. anyways, let me know when a good time would be for you.
