I have a 2001 Quad w/ 4.7L auto. I had a Flowmaster 50 delta flow installed last week. I look at it over the weekend and it is installed at about a 45 degree angle. I went back to the shop and asked them to investigate. It turns out that the Flowmaster is a little wide to be installed flat. Will this impact anything?
The muffler does sound good but the shop is willing to replace with another brand (if I choose?)

I just off the phone with Flowmaster Tech line. The guy said that he has not heard of this problem. Also, said they make a cat-back that installs the muffler horizontal. He said that it might be the shop where I put it on. I am a little confused. All I know is that when I personally inspected the space between the driveshaft and frame, the muffler will not fit horizontally. Damn....

I was just under my 2002 QC measuring for a future muffler mod and noticed that the stock muffler is tilted slightly (30-40 deg) as well. Shouldn't hurt anything though. There isn't a lot room between the frame and driveshaft.

Thanks for the info. I may call Flowmaster Tech line back and give them an ear full. I almost called the muffler shop but it looks like this is the standard install. Glad to hear it is trouble free. Thanks again......
