3800 (RC) vs. 4200 (CC). 1/4 dif. from what I have observed on this page is something like 2 tenths

If they are 400 pound difference then the general rule of thumb is 1 tenth in the 1/4 for every 100 pounds of static weight. So it should be .4 sec difference in the quarter. I think most are only about 300 pounds difference and .3 sec difference is common as well.

Well are we talking about R/T's 3.6 4.7 5.2??? Cuz they should be different weights for the engine size correct?

My CC R/T with Innovations tonneau, Kenny brown X-brace, Hotchkis suspension(heavier than stock), and Caltracs weighed in at just under 4100lbs last time I was at the track. The tonneau weighs probably 70-100lbs by itself, so you are probably looking at around 4000lbs for a CC. The RC weight listed is about right for the R/Ts though.

Well, if a R/T CC weighs 200-300 pounds more then a R/T RC then I'm sure tha same difference applies to 4.7's with comparable setups as well. I'm kind of surprised CW's 4.7 RC weighs almost as much as Brian's CC R/T although things like a full or empty 20 gallon tank can make a big difference. I always was under the impression that the 4.7, 5-speed was a good 200-300 pounds lighter then the 360 and automatic. That would obvoiusly be impossible if they were that close RC to CC.

The two engines are going to be pretty close in weight, although the 4.7 is physically larger as far as outside dimensions. About the only real reason for difference in weight would be the 4.7s composite intake manifold, aluminum heads and small throttle body. The manual trans should be lighter than the automatic, but I couldn't tell you by how much. By the time you add back in the flywheel/clutch weight as well as the pedal assembly, master and slave cylinders for the clutch.... it's probably all the same anyway. My CC 4.7 has always weighed about the same as everyone else's CC R/T. The last time I was at the track I stripped a bunch of weight off of it. I removed the tailgate, spare tire, jack, tools and rear swaybar. Even with all that off the truck it still weighed 3970 lbs!

Mine only weighs about 3600lbs give or take 50lbs.
But i got a RC 5-speed 3.9 so i don't have as much weight as most of you.
