what does a new 180 thermostat do?
is it hard to replace with the factory one?
where is the original t-stat at, so that I can replace it with a 180?

The 180 thermostat keeps the engine cooler than stock. The engine runs better when it is cooler. Thermostat location depends on engine size.

follow the black hose from your radiator. at the bottom is your tstat.
