 Subject: Tazzo VPC vs. GTech results

Thought I'd post some preliminary finds for ya'll.
I got my Tazzo VPC yesterday,,free 2 day shipping! (Talked my way into that!)
I went to S.A., and picked up my friend and his GTech pro to do some comparison runs to see what kind of difference between the two. I have the Tazzo mounted to my steering column,,,and put my friends GTech in the center of windshield.
What I found: (these are 1/4 tests - w/two people in truck, and 3/4 tank of gas)
1st Run. - Both matched! Tazzo=15.5 , Gtech=15.5.
2nd & 3rd Runs. - Gtech= 15.7 Tazzo= 16.1 !!
4th Run. - Tazzo= 15.8 GTech= 16.0
I don't want to make excuses for speed but,,,Like I said there were two of us, 3/4 tank of gas, a bike in the back. I figure my times got worse, cause I didn't allow for a cool down time..? Pretty much just turned around and did it again. Also couldn't launch correctly, either too little,,,or WAY TOO MUCH gas off the line.
Leaves me a bit confused as to which one was more accurate. I'll be taking it to the track eventually to get some real numbers, and compare.
I've got a '01 CC 4.7 auto, open 3.55's.
Has anyone else tried this yet? Any info on to which one is more accurate?

I have a feeling the Tazzo is more accurate. The G-tech uses a generic figure to compensate fro the amount of "squat" or front end lift a car has under acceleration. This may be very close for one kind of setup, and way off for another (the difference between a 60 muscle car and a FWD ricer will be great). The Tazzo has a track calibration feature right? basicall one of the things this calibrates is the specific amount your particular car tilts during acceleration. With the race technology unit you can actually set the angle in the setup. From another test I saw the G-tech gave faster times then the race technology unit as well, which makes me wonder if they do that on purpose to make people happier. You must have been happy at first when both gave the same reading! The best thing to do is take them both to the track and try again there and compare them to the lights. That will be the real test. Even if the Tazzo is off for your truck you will at least be able to "claibrate" it, where if a G-tech is off you just have to live with it onlt being an estimate. I was planning on getting a Tazzo in the next two weeks as well so keep me posted. I don't have access to a G-tech to do any comparasions but will try to run at least once on the 1/8 mile track closest to me just to check it's accuracy as well.

Nothing to report yet,,,been raining all weekend, and this morning too here in Texas.
I really like it so far though,,,just the fact that I don't have to level it every time is pretty coo. I've mounted it on my steering column just left of the hazard button. Looks pretty tight.
