Does anyone here have the same problem with their daks as me? I have had my dak about 4 1/2 years now and have gone through 4 sets of tires. each one lasting about a year. I don't "beat" on my truck or do smoke shows. I've heard people say that daks
are famous for eating the rubber. Anyone know why? or what i can do to slow down the process? I bought a brand new set in november. 20,000 kms later the backs are almost slicks now. okay i do drive about an hour to work, but i really dont think i should be having to spend 500 bucks a year on rubber. Could this have something to do with the 4x4? This is one problem thats starting to
pizz me off....

Yeah really, rotate your tires every oil change for maximum life. I rotate mine and they still have at least half of the tread on them after 1 1/2 years.

At the least rotate them every other oil change or at 6,000 miles.

If your truck is eating up tires and your rotating that often then you either need to get out of the pedal or you are out of alignment. Possibly even an air pressure issue. I have never had tire wear problems with that rotation schedule. What brand and type tires are you running?

My rear tires are about gone with 14,000 miles on them which is pretty respectible (or pathetic, depending on you point of view) for a R/T. I don't want to rotate the fronts back there cause I want to put wider tires on the back, but I do rotate the spare in and out with the fronts, and the rears from side to side. The fronts are less then 1/2 worn.

Next time you buy tires get some with a lower speed rating that are made up of a harder compound. If you aren't going that fast, you don't need the expensive, softer tires.
