I just had my truck Dyno'd.

It has 1600 mile on it (hehe alotta mods for low miles huh?)

Max HP at the rear wheel- 216.3 hp (276 at the flywheel)

Max Torque is 296 at the wheel- (380 ft. lbs at the flywheel)

With the current mods (and in time my hp will increase as the motor gets alittle more worn) I yielded a 26 hp incease and 35 ft. lbs. of torque!! Might have been a little more because it was humid outside.

Nah, I played yuppie black jack (stock market) a couple of years ago and made a grip...

I am looking to devastate most vehicle on the road, especially the lightning. When I am done, I will have well over 400hp...prolly close to 450hp. This month I am gonna put on ported and polished R/T heads (bigger exhaust and intake valves) M1 intake, 1.6 roller rockers, new cams, and the supercharger. I am thinking that the rest of these mods will yield about at least a 200hp increase. hehe. Now only if KRC would call me back........

I would think you'd be pushing mo' ponies than that at the wheel. Got my 'mildly' (I mean that to the fullest extent) 4.7 beat!
Have you run the 1/4 yet?
Also,,why you were at Bernd's shop did you notice if they have an inhouse dyno?,,or use another in town?

I got mine dyno'd at place Bernd suggested awhile back (Colvin Automotive). His price is better per run,,but I'd like to dyno it again at the same place for accuracy. Just wonder'n.
Truck looks awesome.
I think we need to have an Austin Dak Rally one day!

Bernd does not have a Dyno yet, though he is looking into a water dyno that can simulate load. I think he said that it was possible that he might get it. Not sure though.
I thought I would be pushing more also, but it was a bit humid today cause a storm was starting to move in. Or it could have been an improper reading, though all 3 runs were consistant. I am gonna play alittle more with the ignition system, I think I might have made a mistake in installing it. I think I was supposed to seperate the wires becuase of interference. I will seperate them tomorrow and see if there are any gains. I also think that they might have messed up on the dyno. IntenseDak39 had his Dyno'd there and they messed his up too. I think I am gonna have it dyno'd somewhere else just to make sure. I was sure that I would have about 285-290 flywheel horses though.

Did you ever dyno your truck stock?? And the flywheel hp and tq numbers are pretty much a guess since you can't truelly determine how much drivetrain loss your truck has. Might not have had 250hp from the factory either.

Well, I factored in a 22% drivetrain loss, Which is pretty standard for these truck. The range I believe is 20-22% so I factored in the most loss. Most everyone I have talked to says that a 22% loss is standard, Even Bernd. I did not dyno from the factory, but if they say and advertise it being 250 hp, then they HAVE to sell it with 250hp or it is false advertising and we can all have a field day at DC's expense.

But who pulls the engines from their vehicles to dyno test them?? Engines can vary as much as 10% from the factory on hp numbers. Why do you think '99 R/T's generally dynoed at 190-200hp at the wheels, but the '00 R/T's were generally 200-210hp?? The quoted hp numbers didn't change, and the driveline didn't change, but the rear wheel hp numbers did change. Chevy quotes the 5.3L as producing like 285hp, but dyno tests prove otherwise. HP numbers are just marketing ploys. And those numbers are usually the peak numbers acheived under optimum conditions.

Very true. Peak dyno numbers have never been able to tell the whole story. Even timeslips lie when it comes to some mods. A mod that improves off-idle throttle response might not even show up on a timeslip..... but it sure makes the truck feel faster when you drive it normally.

that reminds me... are not the hp and tq lines sopose to cross at 5252rpm on all engines? if so, why do all of the engines in the dodge broshure (sp?) cross at like 3200? did they just draw a nice line on graph paper and show it to people?

The supposed dyno charts in the Dodge brochures are definately just for looks. It's very obvious that accuracy wasn't on the agenda. I don't think they have any relationship to an actual dyno chart.

I looked at that before too, it is because the dyno charts have separate scales for hp and torque. they may cross at 3200, but that may be at 220 HP and 280 torque so they arent necessarily equal where the lines cross.
