I recently purchased a 2001 Dakota 2wd SLT Club Cab with a 3.9, Auto, sport suspension & wheel package and 355 gears with a loaded gut which I love. I want more power and want to do it in increments. Which is the best performance products for dollar for my truck? I want to start with the cheapest then exhaust, induction, computer, etc. and possibly a supercharger at a later date. Without having extra parts left over in the long haul. I would appreciate any input.

No offense but, how much more was the V-8? I thought it was like a $500 option.
For serious power get a Supercharger, for some power get an intake and exhaust sytem with synthetics.
Good luck.

The quickest route is to swap out the factory TB for a V8 TB (Throttle Body). Second is to install a "Cold Air Intake System" (K&N, QuickD, Intense Performance, Pace-Setter), and finally the muffler (2.5" IN/OUT Dynomax).

That will already "wake up" the V6. For more extensive modifications, your not really limited: Supercharger, Nitrous, Heads, Intake, etc.
