If I ever get mine I'll let everyone know how much I like it. I ordered one about 2 months ago and am still waiting for it . DC will not give a release date on it because they are having problems getting them cast at the price they originally agreed on with the casting company, they cast the first bunch and now want more $$$ to make more which will increase the price to us.

Cueball- M1 is the Mopar Intake upgrade. It gives like 20HP. It replaces the beerkeg of an intake we have on the v8's.

The M1 MPI 2bl is one of those mods that looks tough to install dont be intimidated by it as i have at first cos i have never been into a motor that deep before so this baby lingerd in my garage for couple weeks till i built up the courage and went out and did it. man was that a fun install took me 3 days to finish it but i really took my time working on it and was rewarded with the best power and torque of any mod i have to date and my ruff idle was fixed with a real deep mellow idle coupled with the magnaflow muffler my baby sounds like a big block i love the new sound my muffler make now quieter but deep and mellow

The 4.7L got the shaft on mods. Count yourself lucky if you get one, I hear they are about the best thing you can do -- next to a turbo/supercharger.

I already paid for mine and am waiting to receive it. I paid $260 for it and they charged me $40 for the install kit so it came out to $300 with shipping included. I was in no rush when I ordered it but now I kinda need it because the plenum gasket has started leaking in the past few days and I'm not going to fix this intake the swap an M1 on a few weeks later.

I bought it from Jegs, The price has gone up to $267 and the install kit has gone to $61. If I had known what was in the install kit I would have made it myself. It has a few bolts , 4 spacers for the fuel rails , a nipple for the bypass hose and a spacer for the A/C compressor. All the hardware can be bought from the hardware store for about $10 , the nipple costs $2.76 at the dealer ,and the spacer for the A/C can be fabbed up from a scrap piece of aluminum with a Dremel , hacksaw , and a drill. There's also a piece of wire and a few pipe plugs and vaccum caps.If you really want to save money take a look at an install kit and get the stuff elsewhere.

Is there any drawbacks to using the M1? Is there any special mods I have to make or is it pretty much bolt on? I have a 95 V8 4X4. I'm all stock except for straight pipes from the cat back and have gotten a lot of compliments on the sound. Just wish I had the power to match that sound!
You all got my attention with this intake, just could use a little more info on it. Thanks.

JAL, its a direct replacement. verry easy and straight forward. honestly it looks harder than it is. something that will compliment the manifold is a free flowing airfilter, such as a K&N.

The only downside to using the M1 is that you lose a little in the bottom, gain a lot up top. The beer barrel was designed around low-end torque, the M1 for upper-range horsepower.

The M1 is a great part once you start putting other pieces together, it really opens everything up.

Sin City R/T what mods do you have and how long have you had the M1?????

I did feel a slight low RPM bog and a slight lag around 3000 RPM the first week then it magically went away.... rite now truck pulls real hard from zero all the way to red line i feel i gained low end torque and top end HP and the mysterious lag has disappeared MP PCM is a must for this mod I would not get the M1 without the PCM FIRST
just my 0.02

mods so far
MP PCM (Federal)
MP headers +y-pipes,
MP catback
MSD 6A + blaster 3 coil
160 deg patented hypertech thermostat
MSD 9.5mm wires
K&N G2 FIPK (best cold air intake out there)
50mm TB (have orderd the Holley 52 mm TB from summit)

Does anyone have any experiences with a pre-Magnum M1? I was looking around for an upgrade for my '89 Shelby Dakota, and Earnhardt Dodge (http://www.parts4mymopar.com/index.php3) has the pre-Magnum M1 (P4529116) for $169.40. It doesn't look quite like the Magnum/MPI M1, but it is dual plane and should be a real nice upgrade over the stock cast iron manifold.

Anythoughts or comments?

yes that is the hose. it has sort of like a T-fitting on it. just bend it and plug it into one of the ports on the side of the manifold. use the cap that you take off the port on the manifold to plug the port in the map sensor

Thanks in advance,
