the 2000 3.9 V6 is 2 1/2 inch inlet I just put a flowmaster on mine today.

I had to get the 3 inch inlet and dual 2.5 outlets. the 50 series flowmaster, the reason I got the 3 inch inlet was I had a local shop install duals on my truck with a Dynomax 2.5 inlet and dual 2.5 outs. I didn't like the sound of the Dynomax so replaced it with the 50 Flowmaster. I had to either get two reducers for the outlets or one for the inlet (tail pipes are 2.5) Flowmaster Part # 9430502
