JC Whitney has them for 250, but maybe you could get them for less at a salvage yard as AndyL stated.

Also: If you do get one from a salvage yard, make sure to get the sensor. DO NOT cut the wire!!! The wire has a resistive end and the wire is resistance wire, so length is critical to calibration.

Hey, Those compass's are not that accurate. They are mostly a novelty!!! They do not have a compass card. They do not take magnetic deviation into account and your average road map does not have mag. deviation info. Alot of guys on this board have also said that they do not give acurate MPG readings.

You can get one brand new from the dealer for $247. If you do not have a highline Dakota, the OE unit will not work with your system. Also, even if you have the highline model, but no overhead computer, you will not have the proper wiring harness in the truck. I put one in my truck and it did not have it from the factory. Works great, but it was a big job.

I just *now* read this thread after I won the console on eBay. We'll see what this thing looks like when I get it.
