on the 88
toy are going to do some work, such as cutting parts of the body out for more room and getting a smaller radiator, and maybe even outing the AC

but best of luck to ya, and if ya get it to work you will make me very jealous

Super Bee... What would you need to "Cut" on the body to get that engine to fit?.. And wouldn't you need a bigger radiator? If you go smaller. it's going to over heat all the time? Right?, or am I off in left feild? I can't imagine you would have to cut anything... except the old mounts out! ... but I could be wrong?¿? Please correct me if I am... Thanks "QuickRacing"

Why would you have to cut anything? The '88 frame and cab are the exact same as the '91-'96. Those years have the 318 which shouldn't be to much bigger. In my '92 318 I have enough room to move the engine back by 1 to 1 1/2 inches. The only real difference is the radiator core support. In fact you can move the radiator to the front of the support for added clearence.

That's what I thought... Marshall didn't tell us if his current engine is an 8 or 6 cylinder, but mine is a 6, which in turn , I would need a bigger radiator? right? As for the A/C, The compressor, from just looking at it, should be a perfect swap.. The only reason you would "cut" it out is..., actually, I'm not sure why you'd cut it out? unless you don't want it...
(from comparing the the 3.9L and the 5.9L it looks to me that the: A/C compressor, power stearing pump, and the alternator should swap engine to engine...all the brackets are the same the pulles look the same... Anyone please correct me if I'm wrong!!

I have a 3.9 now ,I plan to use all the acce. of the 360, i got what i think is a good deal $1700 w/ harness o/d tranny and motor w/ less than 10,000, miles, and a 6 month warr. I was just really wonering if anyone on the board has done this, and might have any insight on things that I hadnt thought of, I have done swaps before, fuel injected LT4 out of 96 vette into s-10, and small block into s-10 blazer that runs 10's.And I also work at a local speed shop but If anyone has any good insight please e-mail me @ nosgasman@hotmail.com.

You will probably find that one of the motor mounts, the drivers side I think, is a little different for the 360/5.9L compared to the V6 or the 318/5.2L. Should be available at any parts place.
