ok my tranny is startin to really piss me off. I just had it rebuilt and i have a brand new t-case, and a transgo shift kit (which I love by the way). For some reason it is shifting really early. If i am stopped and floor it WOT it shifts from 1st to 2nd at about 4k RPM down to about 2800 RPM, and then from 2nd to 3rd at about 3200-3400 RPM (Still WOT, never let off a bit). I was actually worse than this, but I took it to the guy who did my tranny work and said they readjusted the cable and it is fine now, but when I picked it up it still does the same. They are closed til monday so I can't get ahold of them till then.

Anyone know what the f*@k is up with my truck???
All help will be appreciated.

Thanx in advance,
Anthony

Don't worry man, i got ya. I work at Jiffy lube, so i know all about this. First, put truck in nutral, floor gas, then put truck in drive. Then come by jiffy lube, get a fuel injector cleaner, and it will be fixed good as new!

hollah!

Errr... I really don't recommend revving the engine then slamming it into drive...

Things break when you do that, sometimes... and if it does, warrenty won't cover it.

I noticed the same thing on two other R/T's as well who had their transmission worked on by the same shop (in Georgetown). They put the TV Bell-Crank on wrong which causes it to shift too early (no line pressure and the governor takes over). This causes low line pressure, early shifting, and clutch failure due to not enough line pressure.

This is how the linkake should look:

** Notice the position of the silver plate (circled in red) in reference to the intermediate band adjustment screw (nut and screw on side of transmission).

Thanx Bernd I'll check it out... But when I had my tranny rebuilt like a month and a half ago everything was fine. I'll check it out though....
By the way, I was the guy in your shop last week and you helped me with my TPS and IAC. It only started doing this after I messed with the TPS. But even though we replaced it(the TPS), it still does the same thing......... Could it have anything to do with the TPS being screwed with????

Thanx
Anthony

ok i checked out the tv bell-crank and everything looks fine. my setup is just a tad bit different but it is pretty much the same. is there anything else that could be causing this.... should i get my injectors cleaned??? i really dont have the money to get that done right now so if that isn't gonna help (which i dont think that it will) then i'm not gonna do it. is there anything else i can do??? should i take it to the dealer and pay $45 bucks to have them diagnose it???

thanx

I'm wondering if the shop who installed the shift kit put the correct TV valve spring in there (should be the ORANGE one). Also, if they ground the TV valve properly.

Your IAC and TPS are well within range and won't affect the actual pressure. I can clean out the injectors for you today (will be gone tomorrow until next Monday). I don't think that it will help though...shifting is primarily controlled by line pressure (TV cable and governor).

When they installed the shift kit, did they replace any other parts? (Governor pressure solenoid and/or Transducer?)

I'm not sure what parts they replaced and I should have asked. I had the TFOD-HD2 put in, but I didn't think to ask them what they were doing because to tell you the truth I know absolutly nothing about trannies. How do I check these other things that you are asking about Bernd???
