Subject: New R/T Rim Troubles

Message:
Just had a set of 17x9 R/T rims mounted and balanced with 255/50/17 P-zero tires. I attempted to instal them on my 95 318 Rc 2wd dakota. The rear fit fine but the front have a few problems. Whenever the suspensions compresses the upper control arm {i think that is what it is called} hits the inside edge of the rim. I was wondering if i could just take a grinder and knock the lip off the arm. It doesn't look like i need to remove much material. Or i could try to find wheel spacers to push the wheel out little bit. If spacers are the way to go does anyone know where I can order some for my Truck.

Thx Brad

Stay away from the wheel spacers , They are Bad news. Yes you can trim the arms to clear, I have read some articles in here that some of the fellows had to do this trim. From what I recall, not much had to be removed.

I have a '92 with r/t wheels. Just take a grinder
to the top part of the A-arm where it hits. My
tires rub, but wheels don't. Not a big deal
really, just about ten to fifteen minutes with a
grinder.

Thanks,
Shaun
