Subject: Adjusting my TPS, How?
IP: Logged

Message:
SpeedTweaks shows how to drill it out but then they say "adjust TPS voltage with your fingers". Umm... Okay, how? I can't find anything that looks adjustable on my TPS sensor. Am I just thick headed or am I missing something? Any help would be great.

With the bushings drilled out that will allow the TPS to rotate a little. That is how you adjust it: slightly snug the mounting screws after you have driled out the bushings and installed the washers then you can move TPS to adjust your voltage, just don't force it, if you can't move it loosen the screws a little.

I believe turning it counter-clockwise increases voltage, and clockwise decreases voltage. As you're standing on the drivers side looking at the sensor.

about 120 miles ago I adjusted my TPS sensor to .71 volts, and relocated my IAT Sensor to my intake tube. I let my truck idle for about 15 minutes until the idle stopped fluxuating. I drove it around the block and it started idleing funny and would occasionally stall when stopping from a reverse. I reset my PCM and have driven it about 120 miles now and it still idles extremely low during the day (about 200 rpm, if that...) and really high at night (between 800-1000 rpm) and still stalls sometimes when I come to a stop from reverse. What can I do to fix this??? What went wrong???

From whats been happening to everyone I wouldn't do this mod...as well as adjusting the TV Cable, eventually it all screws up everything. Mud Runner I would just buy a new TPS sensor, hopefully its not that much w/ DC's raise in prices.

I adjusted my TPS (.52 to .72) about 300 miles ago. I noticeed better Throttle response.

FYI: BE CAREFULL when drilling the bushings out. Once they heat up and give, they fly out pretty fast, and the drill can damage the TPS. The price I got for a TPS (prior to doing this mod, just in case damage occured was $72).
