Subject: G-Tech Question!

Message:
When using the gtech on a 0-60 run, does it matter if the street bobs up and down slightly? I always make sure it is set at 0 when I first take off, but the ground isn't exactly a level track. The blacktop is very new, no bumps or cracks. I could tell by feeling that it was pulling very hard.
Because my latest run was in 6.8 sec, which is amazing for a auto. Granted it was done at night, below sea-level(New orleans),in 70degree weather, at 2:00am.

Thanks. Guess I'll just have to bite the bullet, none of the places advertising them for $10 less seem to be aware of the newer applications, also looked into Pro Comp ES 9000's and they don't have plans to make shocks for my application. Too bad, these trucks really need a better shock out back !

I just ordered procomp ES 9000 shocks for the rear of my truck I just ordered for a '98 application. I am sure the rear is the same but not sure of the front. I figure they will help with pulling the trailer.

Thanks once more CW ! It's the rears I really want to replace. Do you keep more weight loaded to the front of your trailer ? That makes a huge difference in reducing sway. Could you help me with the difference between 2000 RC and CC exhausts ? Is it just a straight section after the cat that about equals the difference in wheelbase ? Bernd was pretty sure I could just cut down a CC catback system but I'd like to be positive. You da man !

I am quite sure as well. For my truck I had to add about 5" for the 98' cat back to fit. I just hate how soft the rear of the 2wd trucks are. I will replace the fronts as well. Damn thing bottoms when I go off of a small curb. Just to damn mushy for me. The trailer when it has every thing loaded has not much toung weight even with lots loaded to the front. Funny thing is my Dak pulls the trailer better than my friends full size ford 4x4.

Thanks! Yeah, these trucks tow great. Convoy with about ten campers up to New Hampshire Winston cup races twice a year and no one can out pull me even though mine is oldest and one of the heaviest. Must be getting to them, one just stepped up to a diesel dually. Just discovered mopar chat thanks to a post on this site (old dog just learning "new" computer trick) and after reading some of Duner's posts may have to rethink some things. Wanted stainless Gibson swept side catback but sounds like it could be a power loss instead of expected small gain. Maybe I should just go with a more free flowing, maybe bigger cat until stock system rots off ? Any suggestions ? Removed airbox elbow, also thinking about running extension tube from box to where rubber grill flap was. Boettli, please accept my apologies for redirecting this thread, should probably have started a new one.

Put the shocks on today. It rides quite a bit stiffer. But I think you would have to put in 500+lbs to make it sag at all. The wheel hop in the soft snow is gone. The only difference between the 98 shock and the new ones is just that the bushings aren't as wide so you have to put washers in to take up the space.

If you are going to go with the free flowing cat then you can put on the muffler. Because it is the cat that is the restriction not the muffler.
