I notice that my 2001 46RE does not have this spring but does have the hole on the arm for it.

Did mine fall off or did it not come this way. Is this a 2001 change?

That spring is supposed to be there if it isn't I would put one on. Doesn't cause any slipping but very hard to get the TV cable adjusted right without it.

I just went to my parts dealer, they said the computer shows that a spring should be present on the 2001 46RE. So I had to order it, only 2-3 dollars. I hope this help my shifting :) I have high hopes that it will, because having tension of the TV cable is good and keeping the adjustment in the correct location. I'm thinking it's like a TPS almost. Without the spring, pulling it into position the tranny might think it's pulled by the throttle more than it really is. If not, no big deal. I have that Lvl 10 Valve body kit coming.

Jesse T.

Sounds like your converter is locking up too soon. Sort of like a stick shift, you know when you let of the clutch too soon then the car hops.
Try re-adjusting the linkage

Yeah, it is a automatic but your right that is exactly what it feels like a stick shift. So the cable adjustment dose that when it is not adjusted, I have tried to adjust it and right when I think it is right, no more hop, it dose it again. I dont know but i will try to adjust it again to see if it quits.

Only other sections I could tell you to look at would be the Fluid level, needs to be check with the transmission in drive.

Try Reseting you computer, unplug battery then turn key and hold for 30 seconds or more.

Check spark plug wires, loose connection or bad ignition system like wires, plugs, coil can cause you engine to buck under load.

Jesse T. You need traction bars to get rid of that problem. I have it as well.

Well I was going to try the traction bars, might get them this weekend, but it dose it even when i take off slow somtimes, but I havent checked the fluid level in drive, I will try that today. Normal driving and some WOT also. Well WOT most the time. CW dose it shake your whole truck like a manuel, also everonce in while I hear a grind like when a manuel is changing gears and the clutch isnt fully pushed in, maybe i need a shift kit?

Make sure your fluid is up. Take a look at speed tweaks.net in the tips and tricks section for how to adjust the TV cable.

I know how to adjust it but I think that the white c shape clamp is getting old and might need to replaced. Im getting the traction bars tonight and I am going to adjust the cable again. Thanks
