I have a 3.9 dak which i have been upgrading for a while now. But now i would really like to upgrade to a 5.9 V8. I'm in the process of buying a bigger, better trans, so i'm ready to handle it, but where can i get a good deal on it?

I would just trade it in for a Dakota w/5.9 the easiest way. But, thats just my 2cents

Why not keep you 3.9L and get forged crank, pistons, port your heads, get some strong valve springs and make that engine scream. Build it to rev past 7k and lower you compression down to 7:1 then throw a huge turbo with lots of boost. Might beef up your tranny some. I bet it will still be cheaper and less work, and more power vs a stock 5.9L. I'm not a 3.9L expert, so I'm not sure if you can buy a forged crank, but if a 3.0L Supra engine can produce 800+hp I don't see why a 3.9L can make a good 300+hp? Granted it's not a inline straight 6, but .9L has to be good for something :)
But if a 5.9L is a must, you will love the tunes it makes.
