Or you can put a straight piece of pipe under your pillow, and the mandrel fairy will visit you while you sleep. When you wake up....BAM...you have mandrel bent tubing and a bill for $30...hehe.

What year is your DAK and what size exhaust do you want to run. 1997-99 V6 and above already run mandrel pipes. If you run a V6 and want to do any pulling or need any low-end torque, keep your single-in single-out 2 1/2 inch pipe setup and just change your muffler and Cat with high flow (double or single chamber) parts. You'll feel the difference and still have your low-end without an empty wallet.

Just my 3.9 cents.
98 4x4, 5 1/2 inch lift, 33x12.50's, ram air, maxflow double chamber exhaust and enough noise to shake the windows.

Ski hi,
not all v-sixers came with mandrel bent pipe... my y-pipe is like a 2.25 or maybe smaller restrictor. not one mandrel bend in it... the pipe after that is okay until you get to the axle.

My 2002 RC 4.7L looked like someone made the pipeing with a hammer. The difference between the MBRP pipes and the stock is pretty funny, it really does look like someone stood on it and pulled to bend it.

Intense, I'm surprised. . . I believe you but I'm just surprised. All of the trucks I've seen have had them on stock. They've all been 4x's, but I didn't think that there would be a difference. My bust. Your pipes were only 2 1/4? You REALLY needed to go larger then for sure or else you'd be screwed if you wanted any top-end horse, huh?

i'm thinking about just getting a 2.5 bent up for me at the local shop. if not, buy some mandrel bent 2.5 and do a little cutting and pasting. like i said, it's either 2.25 or smaller... looks pretty funny sitting under my truck.

dasman,

JC Whitney also has mandrel bent tubing in aluminized steel and T-304 stainless steel. The 3"OD stainless steel bent with a 6" outside radius sells for $40. I think the same thing in aluminized steel is $20. I've been looking at the tubing for an intake as well.
