I have an 01 4.7 5spd does my truck have a
NV3500 tranny? I seen the post where it was
put on a V6 just wondering if it would work
in my truck....If so What kind of difference
would it make..

You should have the NV3500, however for some reason the Hurst Shifter will NOT fit '01's without some modifications. Someone who posts here has done it but i can't remember his name hopefully someone else will. The Hurst Shifter is worth it if you can get it to work on the '01

I like mine but I had it installed shortly after I broke a bone in my hand so I had it in a cast. I never really got the feel of it versus the stock, one after the other. A fellow at work who had borrowed my truck before the change said it was far better now.

I like the feel.

even if you could get the Hurst shifter for your truck I don't know if I'd get it if I were you. I have one on my 97 5.2 4wd clubcab and it's very noisy. The shifts are nicer but man the noise is ridiculous. I had a 69 camaro with a muncie m-22 "rock-crusher" trans and it was quieter than the hurst shifter...
