got my throttle body in last night..worked the inside of throat from edge to the step with 320 grit, 400 grit, then the dremmall clothe bit.wd-40 on all grits..think i remove maybe 2mm tried to leave all the step alone..bernd says the step is for bottom end..the inside was ruff like the outside but wd-40 and clothe bit left it mirror almost very slick!!!please give me all info ya'll got on install..all the triks ya'll can think of..thanks alot...

I didn't lose any low end with my porting. I did notice a pretty good gain at about 3000-3500 RPMs. I don't think a mirror like polish is what you want on your throttle body. You want to leave it at about a 400 grit finish. Just like you never polish the intake ports on your heads, only the exhaust ports. The rough finish helps pull the air flow close to the walls of the throttle body with less air turbulence. They use the same principle on aircraft wings called vortex generators. They are little fins on a wing that generate small vortices that pull the laminar air flow closer to the wing.
