Subject: ANOTHER header question
IP: Logged

Message:
I have a 93 Dakota with 318, 4x4, and auto. I think my driver side exhaust manifold may be cracked so if they are I was gonna put on a set of headers. I am thinking of going with the edelbrock headers but am not sure. I have a tube on the passenger side that bolts into the passenger side manifold and am not sure if the new headers will have that hole. Also, how well do headers hold up offroad constanly being spashed with water and mud? Also, are the headers a direct replacement for the factory manifolds? Any fabing?

If this for pure 4x4ing just wield the cracks. If it's a show car, then buy new ones. I wouldn't think headers would last too long under constant hot & cold causing the metal to expand then contract. You might be better off with the big stock iron exhaust manifold system, then spend the money on better gears or a wrench if you don't already have that.
