 Subject: Nitto Drag Radials

Question guys... right now I'm wielding Nitto 455's on my beast, but with my frequenting the track often, I dont forsee them lasting long. Anyone use the new 555 drag radials ? I understand the tallest they make the tire is 50.... this gonna be a big problem ??
I appreciate any help...

What are you running and at what altitude?
2001 RC 4.7 5sp 9.25" 3.92 LSD
Ported 68mm throttle body, IAT adjuster, 3" flowmaster cat back, TPS @ .76V, 4" cold air, Roadmaster active suspention, Removed Third cat. Electric fan Convertion, Awaiting HO cams.
Working on adjustable fuel pressure with return.

What am I running ? if you're referring to engine.. the standard 5.9L that comes in every R/T. As for altitude... almost sea level... East Coast North Carolina

Ahh sorry didn't see the sig. How wide is the 50 series? If you get a 275/50R17 then it will be the same hight as the stockers.

Jonathan, if you are running the stock RSA's 255/55/17, the nittos are going to be shorter. The RSA's are 28" tire, and the nitto NT55R drag radial, i believe the biggest you can get is just shy of 26". If you do a lot of draggin, you might as well just get the nitto NT 450s, in 275/50 which are basically the same height as stock, and just buy a set of MT ET streets, you will like them a lot. Later.

Sorry for the typo on the initial post... I am running Nitto 450's right now. I like them a lot, but I do think I'm going to go with the nt 555's next if it wont cause too much problems. I got a distributer out here saying he can get them for me at a height of 50.... 5 less than what I have now... all I have to do is take the truck to the dealer and have the info inputed in my computer for the speedometer? Nice Kameleon... how much did they run you ? 245 or about a peice ?

I am pretty sure the tallest nitto drag tire avalable for 17" rims is 275/40s If you can get them taller tell me where.
