Since it's winter right now, I unplugged the A/C wire to the compressor. Then did some test by turning on the A/C button! Yes the PCM still thinks the A/C has come on without any Check engine lights. It increases the RPM up by 50 rpms at most but I can sure tell that it advanced the timing. This way it trys to make up for extra drag the compressor would of been doing thus giving you more power. Yes something like the IAT, but this way I don't have to constantly adjust or get worse performance by not adjusting it to the correct settings or check engine light. I've notice lots more power over the IAT. Plus it's free! Try it you might like it, I sure do! I'll just make me a switch that breaks the circuit in the summer time when the day's vary from too hot or good enough to roll down the windows.

Just make a full throttle switch for the linkage that cuts out the A/C under full throttle.

That's a good idea, but I'm not sure how I would do it. I've had the feature on some of my past cars that cut the A/C while at WOT.

I still like my switch idea, this way I'll have that extra power when I'm not needing the A/C compressor to kick in. I've also notice my peddle being stiffer and less mushy and it willing to accelerate faster and running the gear out a little more with less throttle.

Can the serpentine belt be re routed past the fan clutch without it being too short? I would like to remove my fan, but it looks like I might have to remove the fan shroud to do it.

I could definately be wrong, but I doubt that there are any changes to the timing or fuel just because of the AC being on. As far as I know, all it does is tell the idle speed motor to change from 600 rpm to 900 rpm to compensate for the additional load on the alternator (turning fans on) and from the AC compressor.

As far as bypassing the fan pulley.... that pulley is what turns the water pump. Bypassing the water pump wouldn't be a very good idea. (can you say catastrophic?)

My fan only turns on around 190 deg, so 99% of the time the fan is off with the A/C on. Yes, I know the A/C fan should automatically turn on when the A/C is on, but maybe It stays off if it senses cooler temps.

Yes it does increases the idle but you can't even tell the difference unless your listing to the engine.

I'm 99% sure it gives your another few degrees on the timing. We need a Dodge technician to confirm this.

It seems to work for me, I really don't think it's a psychological thing. My butt dyno thinks it works.

...and just when you want the a/c on, you find that it seized up due to not being cycled. This may only happen to older vehicles. Just be aware.

I'm not sure but I'm pretty sure with my kenne-bell pcm the ac doesn't cut out. meaning it still blows cold.

I think your right. I noticed on hot days my truck seemed to run stronger with the a/c on. Good idea to add a cut-off switch.

I agree with Duner... The PCM only adjusts the idle speed when the AC is on. (not ignition timing)

If you do not beleive it... do not trust asking your dealer. Hook up a timing light and find out for yourself.

If you want the defroster to work properly, you should probably keep the ac compressor hooked up. It dries the air used for defrosting the windows. You really don't want humid air blowing on your windows when you are tryin to clear them off and it's freezing outside.

 Well,

I went back to hooking up the A/C, too many if's and should not's. So just yesterday I mentioned to my wife about how getting a Supercharger for the Truck. She said OK! DOH! Oyea. I just turned 26 yesterday so that's going to be a great gift. I'm actually getting some refund this year, so I'm going to wait until I get that money. I think I've converted her into liking Horsepower.
