2001 RC 4.7 5sp 9.25" 3.92 LSD
Ported 68mm throttle body, IAT adjuster, 3" flowmaster cat back, TPS @ .76V, 4" cold air, Roadmaster active suspention, Removed Third cat. Electric fan Convertion, HO cams installed.
Working on adjustable fuel pressure with return.

Actually no, it mentions one so maybe they missed putting one in mine but it does detail what wire goes where in the instructions very simple actually. Even includes a wiretap for the AC relay wire if you need it, i plan on using that tap to splice into the positive wire so the PCM will still have control over the fan as well as the new sensor

So I guess the '01 R/Ts came with electric fans like the 4.7s? Anyone running just the R/T electic fan without the clutch fan?

Last question-if someone could take a picture of the factory electric fan from an R/T & e-mail it to me at ofelas@rogers.com I would be eternally grateful...thanx!!

I'm running a 2002 R/T with no clutch fan and just the factory electric. No problems yet, but it is winter time with no A/C. I have let it idle for about 15 minutes and the temp gauge doesnt get past 1/2. I also have a 180 t-stat, that may help a little.

Well its been almost a year and a half since this thread. Has anybody done this during the summer time? Removed the clutch fan? How does it handle? Any overheating problems? Anything else? Thanks.

As has been said before.

3 summers now, never gets to half way.

NO belt clutch/fan, and ONLY the stock electric. NO other relays, etc. I do have the heavy duty radiator with the towing package, 5spd manual, 4.7L.

I just installed a black magic and a 180 t-stat. Engine is running much better now. I noticed an increase in power and it seems to just drive better. Its running a lot cooler with the new t-stat than before. I recomend it to anyone.

If you continuously run your fan, then when the t-stat is closed it will still be cooling the radiator. When the t-stat opens it will cause a condition known as temperature shock. I don't think in most climates this would really have a significant negative effect on anything, but I would recommend running the fan off of a thermo switch.

Also while at cruizing speeds, running an electric fan will actually lower the amount of air drawn over the radiator no matter what dirrection it is pulling. Run a thermo switch, it'll be worth it.

Today I removed my clutch fan, put in a stant 180 (couldn't find a robert shaw in stock) and a flexalite thermo sensor. I set the fan to come on at 180 deg when the thermostat opens and they both seem to be coming on at 180 but my truck isn't really running any cooler. When the temperature does get up its harder to get back down with this set up. This sounds stupid and doesn't make sense but could I have hooked my fan up backwards? Right now it's blowing air out of the engine compartment which seems right to me. Guess I'll order a robert shaw tommorow and see how that works. If anyone has any ideas let me know. One more question, when the cluch is not engaged on the belt fan is there any real loss in horse power?

Ummmm..... if you're blowing air OUT of the engine compartment (as in forward through the radiator) then you have the fan wired backwards. You are supposed to be sucking air IN to the engine compartment through the radiator.

This is not an exhaust fan like the bathroom. The idea is to pull cool air through the radiator fins....

That's my problem then. I had a black wire and a green wire so I figured green would be the hot wire. Guess I was wrong. I'll switch those around and see what happens. Thanx for the info alex.
