I want to just level out my truck ('01 CC 2wd 3.55 auto) by lowering the rear end.
I'm thinking of going w/the drop shackles from truckperformace.com (think they are like $80)
Anyone had experience w/these or shackles in general? With this level out my ride?

a 1" block would be easier, and just as
effective. drilling out the stock rivets is a pain
in the a$$.

Hey D- What drilling is required? And will a 1" block be enough to level it out? I thought it was two inches to bring the back down level w/the front.

I talked to a local spring shop here that said if I brought them in they'd De-arch mine for me. I do haul a little every now and than so I was going to have them take out one inch just to bring the bed down a touch.
The cost they quoted was $100 canadian. They also said it wouldn't affect load rating of the spring either. Wasn't that an issue with the R/T downrating?
I've seen blocks used before successfully, seems to me if you arent concerned about loosing that extra clearance under the axle you haven't got much to lose, just don't forget to check pinnion angle.

A buddy of mine dropped his 2 inches, and I think it is too low. It measures exactly level, but it looks like it sits lower in the rear end. Plus, if any weight is added, it really looks bad.
I'd go 1 inch. It is a do it youself project, if you're even slightly mechanical.

I just added an extra 1" block in mine...it made
my 3-5 kit into a 3-6 kit...now it sits perfectly
level, after I wash it next weekend, I will take
pics. You could also buy a 2 inch block and
cut of 1/2"....just depends on what kind of look
you are going for.

I dropped mine 2-2 with springs in the front and shackles in the back. Everyone says it looks good. If you're gonna do the back, ya need to do the front,too.

I thought about dropping the front 2" as well, but I'm afraid of clearance problems. I live out in the boooonies. They pipe sunshine to my house, and I think that dropping the front might prevent me from getting much past my driveway.
I thought I could level one of two ways: Dropping the rear 2",, or lifting the front 2" (pre-runner'ish look)
Any pic.s ya'll have would be greatly appreciated.
