I know this has been asked many times but when I went to try to get the code for why the engine light came on it didn't work. I have a 2000 4.7 and was wondering if it still worked on them. I turned the key on and off 3 times multiple different ways and still got nothing. I am doing something wrong or does it just not work on my truck?

Thanks

Be sure to start the process from the off position. Don't turn the key real fast or real slow. Make sure that when you go to the "on" position that your dash lights come on (do not turn switch so far as to activate the starter)

Go from:
off to on
Off to on
off to on (and leave it on).

Code should appear in odometer window.
