Subject: chips?...modulators?...do they work?

I think JET makes a chip for the 5.2's And HYPERTECH makes a modulator for them too. But I'm not sure if its worth buying one. first of all, specifically, what do they do? and what are the different stages for? I've heared from people that they are the best and should be the first thing to get, then I've also heared that they can seriously screw up your engine and shouldn't touch them. any input would be appreciated, and if theres any other info too.

If you have a 1999 or older model, there is NO substitute for the Mopar Performance PCM.

In my experiences, the 5.2/5.9L respond best to the Mopar PCM.

The Jet Stage-II made a noticeable difference on mine...results seem to vary slightly though.

Bernd what do the PCM's cost?... I have a Jet chip stageII and the only difference I've noticed is the speed limiter is no longer there!...
