I have an 01 quad with the 4.7, my question is when I floor the gas I hear a slight kindof squeak noise when my tranny shifts from first to second under hard acceleration. Also when I shift from drive to reverse or vice versa there is like a ticking noise that comes from the tranny. It has done this since brand new. Just wondering if anyone else has heard any of this. Any info is appreciated. The noise when I shift from drive to reverse almost sounds like a servo motor working or something, kinda like when you engage the 4wd and you hear hear the servo motor.

Can't help you on the squeak, but the other noise is normal for all Chrysler automatics. It's just the sound of some pump working.

Thanks alot, I hope the other noise is nothing. It almost sounds like a belt slip noise but its real short. Tranny seems to shift fine though. Thanks again.

my tranny sux...it makes a real harsh jump
from 1st gear into 2nd gear occasionally...I
guess cause its a truck. If it was a Mercedes,
I might have some room for complaint.
P.S. truck has only 10,000 mi

Thanks for your question about the ticking. I thought there was something wrong also. Mine does it too and I have had it only 3 months.
I was ready to have a trans center look at it.

The ticking is an alarm clock that the supervisor installed to wake up the people on the assembly line!!!
