I've heard from a few people that the MSD 6A doesn't really show improvement in the performance but once they added a performance coil it showed great improvement. What if I just switched out the stock coil w/ say an Accel or a MSD Blaster 3...would that show any improvements in idle and spark over the stock coil?

Thanks

I really couldn't tell much difference with the MSD6a. Later, when I added the Accel replacement coil, I couldn't tell much difference either.

Prior to these mods, I had just installed a brass cap/rotor, Auto 3923s and MDS 8.5 wires. These mods did improve performance.

Maybe you should get the coil first (as it is cheaper) and see if it helps.

Did you have to buy any adapters to get the replacement coil to fit?

Accel has an adapter (PN 140021 AH) for its coil (PN 140021) that is required for late model Daks (I think 1998 and later). Earlier models (1990-1997, I think) do not require it.

Speedtweaks has them and will provide you with the correct info/parts. See their web site.
