After I installed my headers a couple of months back my low end didn't feel as snappy as before the headers went on. High end was great, but I wanted my low end back. I installed a Fastman 52mm TB today and it really compliments the headers nicely. My low end throttle response is better than ever and it pulls nicely through all rpm's.

If anyone has been contemplating a TB mod, I highly recommend it. I've gotta blow the dust of the G-Tech Pro tomorrow and see what kind of performance numbers it's given me. Great investment of $225!

Cool! Did you notice immediate response, or was there a pcm learning curve? Mine took roughly 200 kms to level out. My experience was the same, TB upgrade being the perfect counterbalance to headers.

There was a noticeable difference from the very beginning ... any increase after the PCM learns how to cope with more air is just a BONUS I guess! hehehe

Mine took a 4 hour road trip to really show the gains... the first time I stomped on the gas, It went into convulsions! By the end of the trip, I was thrilled with the response I was getting.

Any help like that for a 1990 Dak? My TB is totally stock. Where did you guys get your TBs and did you notice any other listings for older Daks.

And please, explain the theory behind the HP gains for the larger TB. Thanks
Joe E.

More air comes in, computer says "need to add fuel to keep Air/Fuel ratio correct!". More air, more fuel, bigger bang. That's about it.

I know I got a 4.7 but I was wondering if this is true of all MOPAR PCM's. I noticed this pattern a couple of times:
a.)I'd do a mod
b.)reset pcm
c.)average performance for a week
d.)kick butt performance for a couple of weeks
e.)slowly performance would still be good but never as good as a week after a reset.

I had racked it up to lack of traction from the pegleg..couyld it be the pcm-"learning curve"?

I dunno Q., I chalked the waning of the "bang" down to familiarity... meaning that the performance is probably the same but we become used to it.

So guys, if I get headers, exhaust (true dual, high flow cats, and flowmasters), cold air intake, and throttle body how do you reset the pcm and will I definitely get a performance boost?

I did exactly what your talking about to my Ram CC 5.2L(4900 lbs), except I added the Mopar PCM also. It wouldn't even spin the tires taking off, now it will boil them down. Just ordered the 2bbl M1 intake and ported a spare 50mm TB, can't wait to see what this does. Most likely I'll get the Crower 1:7 rockers next. Just disconnect the neg. battery terminal and hold the key in the start position for 15-20 seconds then reconnect your cable and it will reset your PCM.

Yeah I just got some headers on my '01 R/T and had already had a 52mm F&B TB on it and now it screams through the rpm's. I'm also putting on the M-1 2bbl this weekend.
