When I reset the PCM (for any reason) should i have my Jet Chip Stage II Pluged in? Does the PCM then compensate for the chip's altered signal?
Thanks for the help!

Yes leave the chip in. You will then notice your truck is about the same as before you put the chip in. Cause it don't work.

Did you see my previous post (on some other thread) where I discussed that the Jet Chips you used were not for the R/T?

The R/T has different model numbers for both the Stage 1 and II chips. My chips are for the "non R/T" 5.9.

I wonder if using the right Jet Chip would make a difference..

Yes bill I did see your post, I just like to vent on that subject. Some people may notice gains with the chip and yes I did try the incorrect chip. But really I am happy with the IAT, it seems to do the same trick as the Jet Chip.

Hey when are we going to meet up again? Did you put any more goodies on your truck?

The weather should be getting reliable for a Dakota rendevouz. Maybe we should wait for the time change so that the parking lots will not be full of retail shoppers. Have you noticed if the Pier 1 crowd still meets on Saturday nights? I've noticed several Dak owners from our area on the "board". Maybe we can get a bunch to show???

My latest mods have been the K&N FIPK and MSD6a ignition. I really like the performance and sound resulting from the FIPK. I really didn't notice much difference from the MSD. 4.10 gears are next!!

How about you?

Yes the K&N is very nice, and makes a mean growl when you stomp on it. I have purchased some JBA 9MM wires, cap, rotor and the 180 thermostat, but still haven't gotten around to putting them in. I did get the IAT in and it helps out a lot. I was curious about the MSD and am glad you got it in, so you can tell me about it.

Are you ready for the MPG drop with the 4.10 gears?

I really don't know what to expect the MPG to do with the 4.10s.

It's likely that it will drop as the engine will be turning at about a 15% faster rate (going from a 3.55 to 4.10). However, I read several posts (here and on Mopar Chat) that claim the MPG stays the same or increases because the engine doesn't have to work as hard with the 4.10 gears.

However, none of these people can post their mileage because they can't keep their foot out of it. Most everyone that has changed to 4.10s claim it to be their best performance modification.

I'm having mine put in at Houston Drivetrain on the Loop 610 (Wayside area). The gears came it this week, but the shop is too busy to schedule me for an appointment. Pat says that I'll be in and out in about 2 hours....

I'll keep you posted.
