I recently purchased a slightly used 2001 dakota with an automatic 4.7. I must say I love it already (mostly due to the fact that I can now blow away most of those pesky little "fast and the furious" civic lovers) but am interested in increasing the performance.
1)should i supercharge and if so do they even make a kit yet?
2)If I get a flowmaster should I get dual exhaust with the two mufflers or stay with the one muffler factory design?
3)Should I get a cold air intake and if so is it necessary/possible with a super charger?
4)I sometimes have problems with the p255 wheels slipping, should i get softer wheels, larger rims, or will this never resolve itself?

Thanks for any replies

kenne bell makes a super charger for it, if you get flowmaster get only one muffler, you won't need a cold air intake with a super charger,

If you want to hook up and handle go to your Dodge dealer and get the accessory RT 17x9 wheels, for approx 140.00 each. and buy 275x50x17 NITTO NT 450 EXTREME tires. Then watch how the Dak hooks up and handles, OH YEAH BABY.! Worked for me..and looks KILLER. accessory # for Dodge RT wheels# 82205708 , use the Flowmaster single out, series 50 delta flow muffler # FM42552. Exc tone, and feel the difference. I smoke the ricers all the time in my RT look alike, 2000 white CC 4.7 auto, 3;55 sure grip, dropped 2" frnt 3" rear with Hotchkis. and a few other mods.

Just recently installed the flowmaster cat back kit ($189 from summit racing) on my 01 cc 4x4 4.7 auto, I like it, it could have been a little louder but it's fine for now. From the research I did they say a single 3" tailpipe will give better hp than a split tail set up, unless you have true duals front to back.

Thanks for the response guys, i got a few new questions now. If you get a true dual exaust(4cylinders per muffler) is it better than a single(all 8 running to one muffler)? Is the flowmaster delta 50 really loud? I want it to be audible but not irritating, and do all flowmasters work equally well? and is paxton or kenne bell better? Also, yes i love the automatic. It like stick for fun but I like auto for everyday use.
