Our company Roar Inc. is looking to develop a CAI for the new Dakotas (V6,V8). We have been making a system for cars like BMW, Porsche, and many others. We traditionally get gains much higher than the competition, some as high as 2 times the HP. You can check out our website at:

www.roarinc.com

Anyway we are based in the Las Vegas area and we are looking for people to help us by using their car to dyno the figures. If we can borrow you and your car for a day we can get dyno figures for the board and set up a group by for you.

Thanks and please help us out

Chris

I'm always open to new products for our Dakotas, but I have to be a little sceptical on this one. Your air filter assembly looks identical to the ones offered by Toucan Industries, with the exception of not having a fan inside it.

http://www.toucanindustries.com/fulldesc.cfm?ID=631&CFID=246362&CFTOKEN=75972408

I'll wait for the dyno numbers, but it would seem that a fan inside the housing would be more of a restriction than any help.
What's up with all of the useless hi-tech sounding descriptions? Sounds impressive...do you really expect the layman to understand all that?Good luck with your product.

What is this? Another one of those "tornado" things?

He he, that's a good one Wayne. I'll reserve judgement until I see some hardcore numbers. My main scepticism is when I read the claim of sometimes 2 times the h.p. gain of the competition. Somehow I really doubt that, especially when up against some of the other fine cold air products out there.
The web site is a trip. Check it out.

Here is a little bit regarding one of their products:
WHEN IS THE CHARGER ACTIVATED?

The Charger comes on with the ignition. It keeps a constant ram pressure contained inside the intake tract. When you accelerate, the cold ram packed pressure is allowed into the engine instantly and the MAF compensates with matched fuel flow. When you let off the accelerator, the throttle body closes and your engine returns to vaccuum and static idle MAF measurements. Ram pressure is still evident and ready for the next punch.

DO I NEED ENGINE CHIP WHEN I INSTALL THE CHARGER?

A simple intake will be compensated for by the engine ECU therfore a chip is not neccessary. A Hyper-Charger will add increased airflow to a maxing point where the fueling ratio will be optimized like the programming of a chip. But if you add exhaust and can expell more spent gases out, then more air can come in. After this as step 3, fueling can be adjusted by way of the Hyper-Fueling computer and Autometer Air/fuel ratio to dial in an even more optimum ratio of power. Fueling changes as a first step don't make an impact like an intake alone can. Fueling proves a better upgrade after flow enhancement has been greatly increased.

Actually just to let you know for the confusion, the design we are making will not in clude the charger. Sorry the site is currently being redone. It will use a Roar filter with piping. The claims of 2x the HP is on certain vehicles, but we won't know until we get a dyno comparison

I checked out the site. The filter won't do us much good as there are already lots of free flowing filters out there now. I use a K&N GEN II and boxed the filter in. Then I removed the rubber flap on the side of the radiator. Now I have ram air. The charger looks like a good idea. I was thinking it was another "Tornado" like product. Instead it appears to be a small blower, kinda' like putting a hair blower on your intake. Too bad you aren't going to use that on the Dakotas.
