 Subject: MSD 6A and Blaster 3 Coil install

Im installing a MSD 6a and the Blaster 3 coil. Stupid question......but where is the stock coil located? Also, there are two ways of installing for a Chrysler, which do I use:
1) Wiring a Chrysler Electronic Ignition using magnetic pickup trigger or....
2) Wiring a Late Model Dodge with 2-pin connectors

Not sure about yours but my coil on my 93 Dakota with 5.2 is located on the bracket that the automatic belt tensioner is on. Look on or around the tensioner and you should be able to find it if its anything like mine.
Not to insult you or anything but why dont you just follow the coil wire coming off the distributor cap? Sorry, I may have missed something in the original question.

I'm sure I will be corrected if I am wrong(don't know the genIII like I know the genII) but i just wired mine in series with the coil. two wires lead into the stock coil, so i just cut those and wired them into the input wires on the MSD box, then the output wires on the box go to your new coil where ever it may be located. The hardest part was making the realization of how the system wired in and how easy it actually was.

Brian, I have a 2000 RT and recently installed an MSD 6a. I BELIEVE it is the 2 pin connector; I just told the guys at Truck Perfomance and got the adapter cable. However, I am running the Accel coil instead of the stocker or an MSD coil.
Do a search of this website for the link to the wiring diagram for the MSD install...

bRIAN,
The coil is located on the passenger side of engine just under the alternator.
2) Use the 2-pin connector. The Magnetis pick up is for non-computer controlled cars.
You may want to invest in the universal wiring plug, it gives you better instructions. Just read them over again.

What is the universal wiring plug for? I thought I only needed to go with that plug if I was using the stock coil. Im also installing the MSD Blaster 3 coil, so I dont believe I need that plug. PLEASE correct me if Im wrong though!!!

I used the universal wiring, it just made it easier. I have a '98 5.2 auto with the MSD 6TN with a BlasterSS coil.
You can do with out the harness.

newsgroups with my name at #1 and if still 5 persons per 200
newsgroups react I will receive $15,625,00! With an original
investment of only $6.00! AMAZING! When your name is no longer on the
list, you just take the latest posting in the newsgroups, and send
out another $6.00 to names on the list, putting your name at number 6
again. And start posting again. The thing to remember is: do you
realize that thousands of people all over the world are joining the
internet and reading these articles everyday?, JUST LIKE YOU are
now!! So, can you afford $6.00 and see if it really works?? I think
so... People have said, "e;what if the plan is played out and no
one sends you the money? So what! What are the chances of that
