Message:
I was talking to my freind who used to be a parts driver for ford and he informed that lightnings have not been s/c since the mi 90's. He said if I went in to buy one today it wouldnt have a s/c on it. He also informed me that r/t's were weak(he's a ford fan) and I didnt have any ammo to win that arguement other than the fact that dodge put a full size truck V8 in a mid size truck. Any help here?

Your friend knows not what he is talking about. Here's the Lightning specs direct from the SVT site:

'01 Ford Lightning

"Induction System: Pressure Charged with Eaton Corporation Generation IV Roots-type Supercharger"

Some Ford fan.

As for the weak R/T's, he's aboout as well informed.

2001 Dakota Quad Cab SLT , 4.7L, Auto, 3.55 LSD, Garnet Red over Slate, Zaino, Tint, Vent Guard, Gaylords Lid, Hotchkis Springs, Bilstein Shocks, Wet Okole Covers

I think what he is saying is that the earlier lighnings were not supercharged.
