I plan on sending my pcm to kenne-bell tommorrow for a performance flash. there is a pcm(looking thing behind the passenger side headlight) and a pcm bolted to the fender next to the air box which one is the pcm I want to send out for my reburn.

I think it's on the fenderwell but I'm not positive, I'd hate to send the wrong one, so I want to be positive.

CW probably already answered the question for you..... but it's on the passenger side fenderwell, held on by (3) phillips or 8mm head screws. Just be careful when you unplug all three of the connector blocks. You just squeeze the retainer clamping deals both top and bottom to unplug it. Hopefully it will be back quickly for you.

BTW Dunner what kind of boost are you sucessfully running on that truck? Is that boost level with the Mike Leech program? I am seriously looking into a turbo in the next year or so.

I've been keeping it at only 5 lbs of boost lately. I think of it as my "towing" mode. Since I'm using the truck to tow with alot lately, I think it's only wise to keep the hp/torque in check when it comes to towing. According to standard calculations, it's still making roughly 400 hp and 500 ft-lbs of torque with the limited boost. I am also pretty gentle with the throttle when I'm towing the trailer.

I am using a stock pcm for this.

Just wondering, would the KB S/C be able to put out around 400 ponies with enough boost on the 4.7? I'm still thinking of a turbo set-up but might just bolt on the KB instead. What would be the differnce you think between the two?

Good Question!

It's my guess that if you were going from a bone stock 4.7 at 235 hp, you would need to run about 10-11 lbs of boost to get to 400 hp. It kinda depends upon how much power you are making before you add the boost. The rule of thumb is that for every 14 lbs of boost you add, you double the horsepower. And even that's based upon having it tuned correctly.

I'm still learning about boost and how it all works. Everything I think I know so far - I have either heard second hand or read it in the book "Maximum Boost" by Corky Bell. I don't really know what the difference would be between a KB, a Vortech, a Paxton or a Turbo when it came to how much each should make for boost and power. All of them require some fraction of the power produced to drive them. Which one is better? I'm not qualified to answer that question, and any opinion I might have would be prejudiced by my limited experience. I mainly did the turbo because nobody else had done it yet and I wanted to get some first hand experience. Besides, I like the idea of having something "Different".
